CEMEX employees give time to encourage students' success
In partnership with IMPULSA, the Mexican affiliate of Worldwide Junior Achievement, volunteers from CEMEX Headquarters have donated 185 hours of their time to reach approximately 580 local students at the Escuela Primaria Venustiano Carranza, Monterrey. Annually, Junior Achievement reaches approximately 8 million students worldwide. This independent, non-profit organization seeks to inspire and prepare young people in nearly 100 countries to succeed in a global economy. In partnership with businesses and educational institutions, Junior Achievement brings the real world to students, opening their minds to their potential.
CEMEX employees in Spain and Panama have also worked with Junior Achievement to teach the importance of entrepreneurial values to local school children. The 2006 CEMEX Survey indicated that work-life balance is a key factor for employee engagement worldwide. By supporting employees in their effort to give back to the community, CEMEX hopes to take advantage of an opportunity to enrich employees' lives and the communities in which we operate. |
