CEMEX's Dominican operations network serves the country's primary consumption areas, including the nation's capital. The country's cement consumption reached 3.4 million metric tons in 2008.
We have our own internal electricity generating capacity of approximately 25.7 megawatts. This capacity provides us with a key competitive cost advantage. At the end of 2005, we began operations at a new kiln that expanded our total cement production capacity to 2.6 million metric tons per year.
