The objective of our Supplier Sustainability Program is to ensure the promotion and recognition of sustainable practices across our supply chain by extending CEMEX’s sustainability commitment, practices, and beliefs to our suppliers.
Our Program is aimed to combine social and environmental factors with financial considerations when making sourcing decisions.

Create and publish a questionnaire to measure our suppliers’ current commitment to and involvement with sustainability.
19 questions covering:
Communicate CEMEX sustainable commitment, practices, and beliefs to suppliers and internal staff through the following activities:
Develop sustainable specifications related to contracts for such items as alternative fuels, raw materials, gardening, pallets, recycled paper, and PPE
Create a Sustainable Procurement Communication Channel for sharing ideas, reporting questionable practices, and questions and answers
Continue the communication effort by launching specific communication campaigns related to sustainability (e.g., posters, banners, etc.).

Inform all suppliers of CEMEX basic sustainability requirements through clauses within policies and contracts
Develop specific policies that will include aspects of sustainability according to the principles of the United Nations Global Compact, specific policies in our purchase orders and our Code of Ethics and Business Conduct.

Incorporate sustainable concepts into a scorecard to track and reward sustainable suppliers.
This scorecard helps to evaluate suppliers and inform them of our customers’ needs from CEMEX, in order to establish a certification mechanism for suppliers.
