Starting next year, all air traffic in the Berlin-Brandenburg region, up to 27 million domestic and international passengers, will pass through the terminal complex, requiring extraordinarily high performance from its floor structure. The six-story complex, including the main, north, and south piers, consists of a gross floor area of 280,000 square meters.

G. Theodor Freese GmbH & Co. KG (GTF), the German contractor selected to supply heated screed construction in the terminal and the main pier and cement screed, floor coating, and waterproofing in the terminal and the three piers of the airport, chose CEMEX in Germany as its building materials supplier for the screed constructions.

As GTF Chief Executive Officer, Joerg Stengel, emphasized, “Especially for such a construction project as the Berlin-Brandenburg airport, it is important to have competent and reliable suppliers like CEMEX as partners.”

CEMEX in Germany’s nearby ready-mix concrete plants are producing calcium sulfate screed, a specially developed compensation layer material, and the new TCF TEFROTEX Concrete Floor® for the new airport.

Customers across the globe use CEMEX’s cement, ready-mix concrete, aggregates, and related products for construction projects of every type, from infrastructure to residential, industrial, and commercial applications.
