CEMEX in France has recently inaugurated a state-of-the-art ready-mix concrete facility in Grimaud, near the famous touristic city of Saint-Tropez in the coast of Southern France. The plant, which represents an investment of 1.9 million Euros, strengthens CEMEX’s foothold in the area.

“The Grimaud site is designed to supply the complete range of CEMEX products. The facility is already considered as a reference model in terms of production quality, safety and preservation of the environment. It allows us to meet all customer requests with reactivity and flexibility,” says Marc Ginoux, CEMEX Regional Director. “We are at the core of an important market. Our presence in the Saint-Tropez gulf represents an important part of our strategy and being able to rely on an ultra powerful production unit is a decisive advantage for CEMEX to ensure we provide everything our customers need.”

The site is equipped with 8 aggregate hoppers with a total capacity of 580 tons, 5 binder silos, and one 100-tonne silo dedicated to storing anhydrite. Due to the high additive storage capacity, various additives can be stored in ten 2500-litre tanks in a room equipped with a retention basin built in accordance with anti-pollution standards and maintained at constant temperature. Equipped with a 2 m3 mixer, the site has a theoretical capacity to produce 80 m3 of concrete per hour.

The plant was designed to meet all safety and environmental requirements. For example, the binder storage silos are equipped with state-of-the-art individual filters. Thanks to this equipment, dust is reduced to a minimum. Water used in the process is fully recycled and special skips have been installed to optimize the management of unused concrete returned to the plant.

CEMEX is one of the top suppliers of ready-mix concrete in France, with over 200 ready-mix concrete plants in the country. The company is also the world’s leading supplier of concrete.
