CEMEX was named Supplier of the Year for National Gypsum's Clinton, Indiana Plant

The National Gypsum Company located in the Midwestern state of Indiana, has named CEMEX in the United States as its 2009 supplier of the year for excellence in its products and services, following an extensive review of all its suppliers during the year.

"It's quite an honor," said Rick Locke, CEMEX Vice President of Sales for the Louisville Region. "I am extremely proud that CEMEX was recognized as the 'Supplier of the Year' for 2009 by National Gypsum Company's Clinton, Indiana plant. Our company strives to differentiate ourselves from the competition with our people, products and world-class customer service."

National Gypsum Company manufactures a variety of building products, including gypsum board, cement board, joint compounds and shaft wall systems. In an email, the company's Indiana plant manager, George Schmalz, praised the CEMEX team at the Mt. Vernon, Indiana terminal which provides service to the National Gypsum Company.

"We appreciate all of the 'hands-on' service you provide our plant throughout the year and efforts to resolve any issues that may arise," wrote Schmalz. "The quality and consistency of CEMEX cement has been a key factor for Clinton to make sustainable productivity improvements. We have a very stringent evaluation process for all of our suppliers, and I am happy to say that CEMEX scored very well in all categories."
