At an event in CEMEX’s cement plant in Rüdersdorf, two CEMEX executives, on behalf of CEMEX Germany, received a special environment certification from the EU Eco-Management and Audit Scheme (EMAS).

Regional Minister

This year marks the first time in CEMEX Germany’s history that two plants (Beckum and Rüdersdorf) receive this certification for a unified common environmental statement. CEMEX Germany now has a comprehensive environmental management system for all its operations in the country.

"With the achievement of the new EMAS record, the Cemex OstZement Brandenburg is an example for the entire economy because it shows that environmental quality is feasible for a company with high resource consumption and in times of economic crisis," says Regional Environmental Minister Anita Tack.

Guests from the political and business sectors, among them Dr. Frank Beck, head of department in the Ministry of Environment, Health and Consumer Protection of the State of Brandenburg, had the opportunity to learn more on the CEMEX operations through a presentation about the company.

This award recognizes one of the many environmental strategies that support CEMEX's Sustainable Development Model.
